CGG and Uganda's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development Train Leaders and Managers

ENTEBBE (Uganda), 21 March 2024 – Uganda’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) and the Chandler Governance Group (CGG) concluded two training programmes for the Ministry’s senior and middle management at Petroleum House in Entebbe.

The two training programmes were initiated by MEMD’s Permanent Secretary Irene Bateebe and Under Secretary Grace Tusiime, and co-designed by MEMD and CGG, as part of a broader partnership to support the development of leaders and enhance the Ministry’s performance.

The two training programmes focused on enhancing capabilities and skills in the areas of public sector leadership and values, change management, system design, managing strategic projects, performance management, communications, and policy implementation and writing. In addition, the senior leadership of MEMD participated in discussions on how to strengthen inter-agency coordination within the government. These sessions were facilitated by CGG's international experts, Tan Kwang Cheak and Helen Chen, alongside CGG’s CEO Wu Wei Neng and Senior Consultant Patrick Mutimushi.

During the closing ceremony of the training programme for MEMD’s middle managers, class representative Principal Policy Analyst Samuel Babito thanked MEMD and CGG for the training opportunity, which had been conducted at the right stage of their careers.
