CGG and India's Invest Punjab Develop Programme to Enhance Investment Promotion Capabilities

PUNJAB (India), 18 November 2020 — The Chandler Governance Group (CGG) is collaborating with India's Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion (Invest Punjab) to design and deliver the Investment Promotion Skills Development Programme from 18 November to 22 December 2020. The virtual programme supports the enhancement of investment promotion and management strategies, and improves the ease of doing business in the State of Punjab.

More than 20 investment promotion sector officers from Invest Punjab will be attending the programme on a weekly basis for a period of six weeks. These officers are responsible for developing investment strategies, identifying new investor leads, and promoting Punjab’s attractiveness as an investment destination. The training programme is designed to equip the officers with the skills and competencies required for lead generation, investment promotion and investment facilitation.

The programme is helmed by CGG’s resource experts, Mr Sonny Tan and Mr Steven Yeo. Both Mr Tan and Mr Yeo were formerly from the Economic Development Board in Singapore, and have extensive experience in developing investment promotion strategies and policies.

Addressing the programme participants from Invest Punjab during the opening ceremony, Mr Sumeet Jarangal, Assistant Chief Executive Officer (ACEO), said:

Ms Victoria Giaever-Enger, Lead Researcher and Head of Business Development, CGG, acknowledged the importance of having strong investment promotion skillsets in attracting investment for the state. She added:

This inaugural virtual programme collaboration between CGG and Invest Punjab is part of a bigger collaboration to enhance investment promotion and management strategies to drive investments into the State of Punjab, and falls under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government of Punjab and CGG.
